How do Germany’s local efforts in crisis regions make an impact? To make it possible to assess this in remote and dangerous areas, the Stabilisation Platform provides the Federal Foreign Office with specialised monitoring and analysis systems. This allows political processes to target issues more effectively and to better identify risks.
Stabilisation projects are often complex and rarely allow for long-term planning. The SPF therefore provides tried-and-tested concepts to facilitate agile planning, steering and coordination.
Wherever possible, Germany seeks to resolve conflicts through mediation and dialogue. Confidential negotiation and dialogue formats, mediation and support for international peace processes are the instruments used to achieve this. The Stabilisation Platform strengthens the Federal Foreign Office’s analytical and operational capacities for conflict mediation.
International peace processes require parties involved in conflict to engage and enter into dialogue with one another. The SPF therefore provides innovative and customised negotiation, consultation and learning formats.
Russia’s expansion and aggression pose a particular threat to Ukraine as well as to other Eastern European partner countries, which are severely affected as a result. Germany stands by these partner countries. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, SPF experts have been working to ensure that assistance from the Federal Foreign Office – and also from the European Union – reaches people in need in Ukraine as quickly and with as little bureaucracy as possible.
