The Stabilisation Platform (SPF) contributes its global experience in project work in crisis contexts to results-driven foreign policy. To this end, the SPF supports projects with analysis, monitoring, planning and steering. In addition, the SPF provides analytical and operational experts for peace negotiations and public or confidential dialogues. It advises German diplomats on how to cooperate even more effectively and efficiently with European, international and regional partners as well as multilateral organisations. Since 2022 the SPF has been supporting Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s war of aggression on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office, including with EU funding.
Humanitarian crises are a recurring challenge for the international community. The Federal Foreign Office actively works to ensure that global humanitarian assistance is targeted, effective and efficient, for the benefit of those affected. Germany provides strong and sustainable support to humanitarian actors, both financially and through humanitarian diplomacy. Internationally experienced experts from the SPF support the Federal Foreign Office in strategically developing action-oriented approaches to humanitarian assistance. In this way, the SPF helps to integrate Germany’s objectives and priorities into the international humanitarian system.
